Frequently ASKED QUESTIONs
Can I use my personal email to register for the VM trial?
You must register using your company email. This requirement ensures that the trial is accessed by professionals within relevant industries and helps maintain security and compliance standards throughout the trial period.
Can I access multiple VMs simultaneously if I sign up for more than one tool?
You can sign up for each tool’s trial individually, but each registration grants access to only one VM per tool. If you wish to explore multiple tools, you will need to register separately for each one.
Can I extend my trial period?
Yes, we offer the option to extend your trial period if you require additional time to evaluate the tool. Please reach out to our support team, and they will assist you in extending your trial based on your needs.
Will my progress be saved if I log out of the VM?
Absolutely, your progress is automatically saved when you log out of the VM. You can resume your work from where you left off whenever you log back in.
Do I need any prior knowledge to follow the lab guide?
No prior knowledge is required to effectively follow the lab guide. It is designed to be accessible to users of all experience levels, providing clear instructions and guidance throughout the process.
Is there any limit to the number of jobs that can be run on the server at a time?
Yes, the limit on the number of concurrent jobs on a server depends on the license you have purchased.
What is a workflow?
A workflow is the visual illustration of an integration process for automated and iterative execution. It is a process orchestrated to run a sequence of tasks such as running a program, sending an e-mail, executing some SQL query, etc. The tasks are executed according to a pre-defined sequence, following a custom logic which decides what path must be activated under what conditions.
You can also specify what should happen at each step if a task runs successfully or returns an error in a workflow. You can also route the workflow by using a Boolean condition suitable to your scenario. You can even nest another workflow or a dataflow within your workflow.
Once designed, a workflow can be deployed on the server and scheduled to run automatically as per the specified time and frequency.
What is the difference between Single Instance Data Region and Collection Data Region in Astera ReportMiner?
A Single Instance Data Region is used when the relationship between two regions is a one-to-one relationship. For example, in a dataset of orders, an order can only be placed by one customer. Therefore, we will use Single Instance Data Region to extract details of the customer from the data source.
A Collection Data Region is used when the relationship between two regions is a one-to-many relationship. For example, in a dataset of orders, there can be multiple items in one order. Therefore, we will use Collection Data Region to extract details of the items ordered.
How can we preview ‘x’ number of records in a Data Preview window?
You can preview ‘x’ records by specifying the number in the Source Record Count option present in the Data Preview window. If you want to preview the entire dataset, set the Source Record Count value to zero.
