Astera ReportMiner 8 Has Launched – Improved UI, Easy Data Extraction

After rolling out a series of updates to ReportMiner as part of our Centerprise 8.2 release, we’re now excited to announce that RM 8 is available as a standalone product for users.

The latest release of ReportMiner comes with a new and improved UI, and is built on the same REST server architecture as Astera Centerprise. This rollout offers improved customer experience with its enhanced user-friendliness, intuitive GUI, and smooth navigation. Moreover, it simplifies user interaction when modifying report models, enabling code-free data extraction in an easy-to-use environment.

The software is centered around empowering business users to handle the template-based data extraction process from start to finish with minimal IT intervention. The new UI is a step forward in that direction!

This release also includes new features and enhancements that add to the functionality of ReportMiner. Here’s a brief overview of what you will find in this rollout:

Dedicated Properties Panel

The new layout includes dedicated panels for Report Options, and Region, Field, and Pattern properties that appear in the sidebar. Each of these panels are accessible by clicking on the respective element. You can easily edit and update the report model properties, and observe the change in real-time through Instant Data Preview and the designer window.

Whether you want to modify the field length, region name, or delete an entity, you can effortlessly make the changes by switching between the properties panel – no need to open a separate dialogue box.

Shortcut Icons in the Properties Panel

The new properties panel has a dedicated toolbar with shortcut icons for altering the respective properties of the report model entities. This UI enhancement allows you to implement changes in the report model without switching screens, saving time and improving user-friendliness.

Auto-Determine Field Names for Report Models

This new feature automatically determines the field names in the selected data region when a new source file is loaded into the report model – with just one-click, eliminating manual effort.

Data Cleansing

The new version of ReportMiner includes enhanced data cleansing properties by enabling removal of Punctuation and All White spaces from report model fields with a single click. It saves you the trouble of writing lengthy formulas to scrub your data.

These options can be accessed in the field properties panel by clicking on any data field. This advanced cleansing functionality ensures error-free extraction at the same time as the text is being read.
